Mission : Provide educational programs to the public and government agencies regarding the natural history, captive care and conservation of native Georgia and exotic reptiles.
Located in Northern Georgia at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Dawsonville, our facility houses a wide variety of snakes, lizards, and turtles. The semi-tropical climate allows reptiles to be housed outdoors in a more natural enviromental setting. Members of both the Georgia Herpetological Society and the Minnesota Herpetological Society, they are experienced reptile handlers. The picture below is at the Annual Minnesota Renaissance Festival. The Minnesota Herp Society has a permanent cottage on the grounds and provides hands-on interface with the public every weekend throughout the festival. Members are required to be in period costume - it is a great time. |
Snakes Alive Reptile Zoo offers guided hands-on tours of our facility. Our Mobile programs involve both an educational presentation and a hands on experience with a wide range of reptiles. Each program is designed to both educate and entertain. We also have an extensive reference library, customers can obtain both species specific and general references upon request.
